Press Release Format
lThere is a fairly standard format for creating press releases. Each press release should include the following:  lIdentify the Main Elements: Who, What, When, Where, Why and How
lKnow Your Audience
lHeadline: Needs to be written so that it is equally as alluring as it is informative
Know your audience – Think about which editors and writers will be interested in your release.  Avoid using too much technical words
Headline – Open with a strong headline to get the reader’s attention.   The headline along with your opening paragraph need to contain the most vital information.  This is essential to keep the reader’s interest as they read through the detail section of the release. Ex. If  the press release is announcing an important event, the opening paragraph should include the location, date, any fees that are associated with the event, and any features of the event that make it unique and important.
